Cantus Buranus – Summer Breeze Open Air 2009

This was definitly not my cup of tea…I definitly like the Corvus Corax CDs, but this was a bit much, even for me. This interpretation of the medieval writings Carmina Burana was done with lots of instruments and an orchester, but there was just nothing happening on stage.
Shooting Notes
Shooting this Show was a nightmare. There was just an aweful lot of stage smoke and just a really intense pink, red and blue wash. While it was ok to deal with the blue, the red and pink together with the smoke was hard to deal with. Shooting was wide open at f2.8 with ISO 800 between 1/160 and 1/200. Afterwards some post processing was necessary to get at least a couple of pics to jump at you. Getting more blacks in here, increasing the clarity and decreasing the saturation helped a lot here.

I really like how they did Carmina Burana. But such productions for theater, but not for the Open Air
