Forbidden, Jon Oliva’s Pain, Children of Bodom – Rock Hard Festival 2009

The second half of the day started of with Forbidden. The US-Thrashers laid down some oldschool riffs for all people attending and really got a great reaction from everybody. During the whole show the guys were all over the stage, but couldn’t compete with the Dragonforce guys a couple of minutes before (but on the other hand, who can?).
After Forbidden it was time for some Savatage style music in form of the mountainking himself, Mr. Jon Oliva. As always it was a blast watching him and the big guy was pulling faces the whole show.
The headliner of the evening was Children of Bodom. I was a bit scared, that the performance might turn out lame, for Singer Alexi broke a couple of ribs a few weeks before the show. But my worries were totaly unnessecary – Alexi played the show of a livetime and with him not being able to run around all the time, do to the accident, he was forced to concentrate on his playing… every note was were it belonged and he just ripped through his solos like a madman. Great!
Shooting Notes
The second day wasn’t much different then the first. Still normal light during the day, without much trouble and in the evening even worth moody light then the evening before shooting Opeth…
