Children of Bodom – Summer Breeze Open Air 2010

After Children of Bodom weren’t doing a Headliner Tour in Germany for their ‚Blooddrunk‘ Album, I was happy to finally see them live again. In fact Children of Bodom were probably one of the Bands I was looking forward to most. As always the Band pretty much rocked the festival ground, even though I have to say, that Alexi missed a lot of notes in his solos.
Shooting Notes
The Light was a bit weird shooting Children of Bodom, because there wasn’t a lot of frontlight, but the backgroundlights were really bright, which resulted in a stunning backgrounds, but dark faces. I was shooting this set with my 24-70 and the 70-200. I wanted to get out the 10-22, but there wasn’t really enough frontlight to deal with the f4.5 aperture of the lens. Also the Bandmembers stayed always a bit back from the edge of the stage. I kept the ISO between 1000-1600 to have enough light to work at f2.8 and a shutter speed of about 1/160.
