The Devil’s Blood were up next. Upfront there was a lot of talking about the show and the organizers of the festival promised an intense and enormously exiting show that would blow our minds. While the stagehands brought up a big screeen on which short movieclips were shown and covered the wedges with plastic because the Band would be handling blood on stage it still seemed like this would be a great show and there was a lot of anticipation… which was pretty much disappointed as the Band entered the stage. Everybody was expecting a wild show, but nothing happend. The guys come on stage, everybody kept at their spot and no word was spoken. The Band was covered in blood, but that was about it. The songs the Band played were pretty intense and had a strong 70s rock feel to them, but this definitly was no Headliner Show for a big festival.
Shooting Notes
Finally it was getting dark outside, but to set a mood the Band was not really intessed in changing that with a big lightshow. A few red lights from the front and a bit of green in the back was all I got to work with, which resulted in a wide open aperture of f2.8 a shutter speed of 1/250 or below and the ISO stuck at 1600. It was pretty much a mess. While there was a bit more light at the center of the stage for some parts, the guys standing at the sides were in darkness.
